There are two days of high-level golf left at one of the nation’s most heralded courses as the 2023 PGA Championship hits the homestretch this weekend at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York. The action in upstate New York continues Saturday with the best golfers in the world fighting through inclement weather to complete Moving Day and set themselves up for the final 18 holes.
Expectations early in the week were that Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler would duel for the Wanamaker Trophy across 72 holes, but while Scheffler held the 36-hole lead alongside Viktor Hovland and Corey Conners, Rahm ejected in Round 1 and has not been able to catch up. There are other big-name stars also in contention with Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy among that group.
With a $15 million total purse and $2.7 million winner’s share on the line, there is plenty of golf left to be played. We will have a great idea of how the PGA Championship will ultimately unfold once play concludes with 18 holes remaining Sunday.
There is so much to follow this week that it can be overwhelming at times. No worries: We have you covered.
